Grief and loss
Bereavement, and the quieter griefs — lost health, lost roles, lost communities, lost versions of a life you expected to have.
Spirit Led Institute · Personal Healing
Personal healing courses, guided journeys and reflective resources for grief, relationships, boundaries, identity, faith, belonging and change. They draw upon the books and frameworks published through Spirit Led Counselling — The Practice, with dignity, agency and informed choice at the centre.
The Practice publishes books and educational resources only. It does not offer individual counselling or therapy sessions; Sharon’s counselling training is described as background to her teaching and writing.

Sharon Mackenzie SpiritRSPrac · Founder & Educator
Sharon Mackenzie is the founder and educator behind Spirit Led Institute. Her work draws on a Diploma of Counselling, narrative practice, accredited chaplaincy, trauma-informed care training. She develops practical education at the intersection of safeguarding, organisational culture, dignity, authority, psychosocial safety and individual healing.
Not a list of conditions — themes addressed through the Institute's courses, writing and resources.
Bereavement, and the quieter griefs — lost health, lost roles, lost communities, lost versions of a life you expected to have.
Untangling the patterns that keep repeating, and finding language for what you need and what you will no longer carry.
Confusing, painful or destabilising experiences — space to slow them down and make sense of them at your own pace.
When a workplace, community, organisation or church that was meant to hold you became the place you were harmed — space to name it, without having to prove it first.
Who you are when the roles fall away, and where you fit when the places you belonged to have changed.
Faith is welcome here, and so is doubt. We go only as far into it as you want to — never further.
Endings, beginnings and the unglamorous middle — work, family, health, ageing, moving, starting again.
01
Begin with the theme that speaks to your experience: grief, belonging, boundaries, faith, identity or institutional hurt.
02
Use a self-paced course, book, essay or free reflective resource according to what is useful to you.
03
Pause, reflect and return when you are ready. The resources support your agency rather than prescribe an outcome.
Sharon is a counsellor, chaplain and reflective safeguarding practitioner. Her qualifications, professional experience and practice inform the publications and frameworks that Spirit Led Institute teaches here.
The resources do not diagnose or prescribe a programme. They offer reflection and language for patterns that can be hard to name, supporting readers and learners to decide what they want to do differently.
The Practice's wider body of work includes frameworks on grief, belonging, community health and human systems, available through courses, books, essays and the free resource library.
