Sharon Mackenzie is the founder and educator behind Spirit Led Institute. Her work draws on a Diploma of Counselling, narrative practice, accredited chaplaincy, trauma-informed care training. She develops practical education at the intersection of safeguarding, organisational culture, dignity, authority, psychosocial safety and individual healing.

Spirit Led Institute is an Australian independent education provider offering non-accredited online courses, practitioner development, reflective safeguarding education and professional learning resources.
Counselling-informed practice and chaplaincy experience inform the education, alongside organisational analysis of authority, dignity and psychosocial safety. Christian spiritual formation is an established part of the Institute; optional faith reflections remain a choice where offered. This is education, not individual counselling or clinical treatment.

Over time the questions that came up in that work kept outgrowing the hour. They turned into notes, then frameworks, then books. That work is published through Spirit Led Counselling — The Practice, then carried into courses, guided healing journeys and formation through Spirit Led Institute.

Outside the work, Sharon lives with her husband of 34 years, Shane, their daughter Anna, four semi-feral cats and six chickens. She works part-time at a local Aboriginal youth hostel, and spends her time writing, drinking coffee, eating pizza and playing with her cats.
