A workplace can appear stable because workers have learned to accommodate an obstructive or unresponsive point of authority. This serious, self-paced professional development course examines organisational accommodation, blocked reporting, responsibility without authority, escalation and failures of review. The Accommodation of Harm Framework is an original Spirit Led Institute educational framework taught within the course, not statutory or SafeWork NSW terminology.

Sixteen short written lessons combine fictional cases, optional private reflection, an Organisational Accommodation Audit, an Empty-Chair Test and five explained scenario questions. Estimated study time: 90 minutes, with additional time available for workplace application.

Educationally aligned with the NSW WHS framework and SafeWork NSW psychosocial hazard guidance. Independent and non-accredited; not legal advice or legally compliant training. Original Spirit Led Institute frameworks are distinguished from statutory and SafeWork terminology. No scenario establishes bullying, misconduct, illegality or a WHS breach.

Complete the 16 lessons and pass the final knowledge check (80%, with retries) for a non-accredited Certificate of Completion. Private reflection is optional and not assessed.

Five questions for organisational leadership

  1. Who is being required to change their behaviour in order to accommodate whose behaviour?
  2. Who is carrying responsibility for a risk they do not have the authority to control?
  3. Where does important information go when the person with authority does not want to receive it?
  4. Can our review and escalation systems still function when somebody with power refuses to engage?
  5. If everybody stopped compensating tomorrow, what risks would suddenly become visible?

  • Use an organisational audit to identify decision ownership, controls and review.
