Night Fury
By Sharon Mackenzie
Let the fury rise and the shitbags hide
We have been sold some peculiar ideas about healing: forgiveness, reconciliation, closure, serenity — preferably in flowing linen at sunrise. Sometimes that is exactly right. And sometimes healing looks like sitting very still one morning with a strong coffee and realising that what happened really was wrong.
Night Fury gives anger a voice. It does not give anger permission to harm. Written with fury, humour and a great deal of plain speaking, it is for anyone who has been asked to be gracious about something that hurt, and who keeps meeting their own rage in the quiet hours.
A note before reading: this is reflective writing for education and encouragement, not a substitute for professional advice — and yes, it contains strong language, deliberately.
